Research Study

Interested in participating in language research?
Volunteers are needed to participate in research study investigating how the brain processes speech sounds. Participants will listen to sounds and make decisions about them.

As part of the study, we will record brainwaves from sensors placed on your head while you hear different sounds. We will also measure your brain structure and/or function using MRI. MRI allows us to take detailed pictures of your brain and does not involve radiation.

There are 1-3 sessions (up to 3 hrs. each) and scheduling is flexible. Participants will receive $15/hour for participation in tasks done outside the scanner, and $30/hour for time in the MRI scanner.

Depending on the study, you may also be eligible to get a hearing test and a picture of your brain.

Requirements: If interested in participating, you must:

 (1) be between 18 and 30 years of age

 (2) be native speakers of American English

 (3) have no history of hearing or neurological disorders
